Welcome to The Old Land Cruiser Company website!

Quite a few years back, I came across what would become my first Land Cruiser and the
start of a lifelong passion. A light blue 1971 FJ40, built in December of 1970 which was
showing the effects of age and neglect.

The hard top and doors had been replaced by a now ragged, aftermarket soft top. It had big
wheels and white fibreglass flares. The original carburettor was long gone. A tired
Rochester model was sitting in its place, which leaked fuel from every seam. This was
perched precariously above a rusty, worn out set of extractors/headers.

The interior was a real mess. Flaking fibreglass covered both drivers and passengers side
floor panels, hiding extensive rusted through holes. An aftermarket rollbar was crudely
attached where the original jump seats should have been.

My intent was to return the old Cruiser to as near original condition as possible, and two
years later she was finished. But having driven her for several years, I began to look for
another project. Eventually I sold her to another Cruiser enthusiast, having found my next
project. This time it was a nearly rust free 1972 factory soft top FJ40, which had a hard top
installed and no sign of the original canvas. The whole process had begun again.

My personal Cruisers have included the previously mentioned 1971 and 1972 FJ40’s, plus a
1975 and a 1976 FJ40, a 1976 FJ45 soft top Troop Carrier, a 1979 FJ40 and HJ45
Trayback, two 1980 HJ45 Troop Carriers, a 1981 BJ42, and a 1982 HJ47 Troop Carrier
which I modified into a ute. Currently a pair of 1984 HJ47 Troop Carriers are awaiting
restoration as well as a 1984 BJ42 and the newest arrival… a completely stock Japanese
Domestic Market 1983 BJ46V LX.
