Japanese Fire Trucks
This the last type entry I have in my fire engine folder. It is a 1997 HZJ77F double cab which was
auctioned in Japan not too long ago and ended up in New Zealand. No canvas doors on this
machine. The crew would be driving to the emergency scene in relative comfort... well, except for
the poor blokes who would be sitting in the open back that is!

If you have any good photos of Land Cruiser fire trucks, why not e-mail them to me and I'll
include them on these pages. Enjoy!
Here is another former Japanese fire trucks which recently sold in Japan. As some of you know,
the mid wheel base BJ43/44/46's are my personal favourites. This BJ46 is in awesome condition!
It is unusual in that it has the standard spec interior, but is fitted with LX style rims. My guess
wold be that this Cruiser would have served as a fire commanders car, given that it is fitted out
with factory power steering and air conditioning. This would have been a real treat to see racing
towards a fire somewhere... lights and siren blazing. Very Cool! I want one!!!
I photographed this spectacular 1984 HJ47 on the south coast of New South Wales a few years
ago. Most of the older Troop Carriers were replaced by the 75 series quite a few years before I
spotted this one. It was such a pleasant suprise to see that I quickly made a U-turn and came
back to take these pictures. From what I was told by one of the fire brigade staff, the person to
whom this Cruiser was assigned continually refuses to trade it in for the new models. I truly hope
it is still out there looking as good as it did on this day.
