The Old Land Cruiser Company News

Well it's finally happened... we have decided to move north to Queensland. This has not been an easy
decision, as we have so many friends and associates in this part of the world. It will be hard to leave them,
and they will be sorely missed, although we have already started taking bookings for what might well
become a Land Cruiser based B&B!!!
Personally, I am excited about the coming changes. Renewal is always a good thing and I think that it has
been coming for quite some time. I know that there will be more than a few challenges and I am preparing
myself for these as best I can. I suppose the biggest issue will be one of connectivity... I am not sure how
long I will be "out of touch" during the move. So please let me extend my apologies for any delayed
response to e-mails, but I assure you that each one will be answered as soon as I possibly can.
Of course the biggest physical challenge is clearing out the myriad of bits and pieces that have been stock
piled over the years. I've decided to sell the 1983 HJ47 troopy on Ebay for much less than it's worth, but it
would cost too much to ship north. I am also using Ebay to clear out most of the clutter. It is a very useful
source of hard to find things and I have used them in the past to sell parts as well as to bring more Cruiser
fans to our site and this will not change. Many of the parts which I list on my website are offered at a discount
on Ebay, so check it out if you have some free time. Just in case some of you are wondering, no, I am not
getting a kickback from them either.
This will actually be my first major update to the website since I first set it up, so please have a look around,
there are all sorts of new and interesting pages. We've added a page on Japanese fire trucks and am
working on a page with some nicely restored ex-army Cruisers from Lebanon. As always, enjoy and we'll
see you out there, somewhere in the bush.
Cheers,
Bob

Hello everyone! It's hard to believe that is has been well over a year since we have updated the site. Now
as you can imagine many things have occurred during that time.
The move to Queensland went well, however we were unable to set up the shop as planned. Too many
things were working against us. The price of fuel had shot through the roof just as the Aussie dollar
reached nearly equal value with the U.S. dollar. So we found ourselves unable to ship all of the parts and
equipment stored inside a couple of Cruisers back in Victoria. The sale of both Cruisers and Cruiser parts
come to a near standstill, so we decide that a drastic change in strategy was required.
Now as some of you know, when I founded the company I was working as an aircraft maintenance engineer
and my wife and I had to make the very difficult decision to close the shop and accept a position back in the
aviation industry. We have been asked by many of our loyal friends and customers whether we are actually
giving up on the business. In this regard, we are happy to say that we will reopen once things get a bit better.
Having said all of this, we'll still be around to offer any assistance that we can. Additionally, we are looking
at some new products which will be developed over the coming months. So please keep those e-mails
coming.
Thanks for your time and understanding. And as always, we look forward to seeing you out there,
somewhere in the bush.
Cheers,
Bob
