| I am often asked about what it is that I actually do, besides the obvious tinkering in the garage, wandering aimlessly through all the wrecking yards within a days drive of my house, chasing down leads on old Cruisers and now... spending hour after hour in front of my computer working on this website. Well, what I do is try and match people up with Cruisers or Cruiser parts. It sounds simple, but it isn't always the case. I had a bloke ring me from America looking for some old FJ45 parts. He needed the clips which held the removable hard top on. The newer ones use bolts, but finding the old clips turned into quite a challenge... he needed them to complete his restoration and luckily I did find a set for him. Another bloke rang me about a Troop Carrier which was for sale and as he was overseas, he wasn't able to inspect the Cruiser himself and so I went and had a look. It wasn't as good as the paper made it out to be, but after sending some pics to him and giving an honest evaluation he was able to negotiate a better price. A couple of years ago, a good mate of mine was planning a career change... he had purchased a hobby farm and was set to go into semi-retirement. We were chatting over a few beers one afternoon and he mentioned that he needed a good, strong work ute for the farm. He quite fancied the old Land Cruisers and knew enough about them to understand that they wouldn't let him down. I happened to have a 1977 FJ45 in great condition in the shop... not needing more than a really good tidy up. He was elated, so much so that he told his wife that he had bought a Land Cruiser before I had actually decided to sell it... Currently, I am looking at beginning to manufacture some of the items which Toyota no longer makes, and a few of my own ideas as well. So, that's pretty much what I do... Restorations... We breathe life back into tired old work horses and in doing so put the classic Land Cruisers back on the road... and off raod as well. We'll find those hard to get parts... Mind you I have an old friend who has an FJ45 ute and is in need of the original oval 4x4 plate which mounted to the fold down tailgate... Pre-purchase Inspections...
